I NEED YOUR HELP
I'm getting a team together to do the three day walk for breast cancer. This will benefit breast cancer research. The hardest part will be to raise enough money. I figure my team can hold fund raisers to come up with the $2,200.00 each that we need to raise. For our first fundraiser (at the suggestion of my nutritionist) I would like to collect plus size clothes and sell them at Gibraltar Trade Center. If you have any plus size clothes you are willing to donate to this worthy cause please let me know. We have until September to get ready for this life changing event. Won't you please commit to being a part of it by donating your gently used plus sized clothing? I am also looking for items that can be auctioned off. We have to raise a lot of money, so please Donate what you can, but make sure it is in good condition. We also accept monetary donations. Thank you.
God bless you,
Annette
Thank you Tricia. I really appriciate this. Where does your sister live? I have been wanting to get up your way for a while now, but just haven't been able to make it. I will try to make arrangements to borrow a truck and get up there. I will let you know when. I do know it won't be the weekend of the 23rd through 25th. Thank you.
God bless you,
Annette
Annette, I walked the 3-day last year, and am going to do it again this year. If you need any suggestions, please feel free to call on me. We are doing a euchre tournament fundraiser on March 17th. I already belong to a team, but would be more than willing to share how I raised my $2200 last year. The 3-day was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, as I have shared with you before. You will not be sorry to part of the experience. Be prepared for the journey. It taught me alot about my weight loss too. Carol
Hi Carol
You are my hero: ) Dr. Eshelman was talking about this at our last Replapse Prevention meeting I knew right then I woud be doing it. I was thinking about you and how long you trained for it, and how exciting it was for you. I would love to hear how you raised the money last year. There are people that have told me they want to do this, but are concerened about raising the money. I'm sure we can do it though. Thank you for your help Carol.
God bless you,
Annette
Annette, actually raising the money was the easy part. The time that had to be put into training was the hard part. You have until the End of October to come up with the money. The walk is September 28th this year, so you have a lot of time. I raised over $700 being a guest griller at BD's Mongolian, we did a car wash. I did a garage sale and sold baked goods. You can get permission to be outside Walmart or Kroger and get money. You ask your friends and family. But to be honest, I received more money from strangers than I did from friends and family. Just make sure you train, train, train. The walk was one of the most demanding things I have ever done, not just physically, but emotionally. REGISTER, go to the expo, they give you all kinds of suggestions and help on how to raise the money. With over 3000 people walking, you are NEVER alone. It is truly 3 days of random acts of kindness, and the road getting to the 3-day, you meet so MANY wonderful people. I could go on for the days on the experience, if you have a group that is not sure they want to do it, and you want me to come speak to them, I would do that for you, as I know....YOU CAN DO THIS ANNETTE. Take care and God Bless, Carol
Hey Carol,
Thank you for the tips. I've been walking and working out so it's not to bad yet. I'm excited about this, But I want to make sure I am prepared for it. I will work up my exercise and walking. Is there is a plan were supposed to follow or do we make up our own? "being a guest griller at BD's Mongolian" Interesting how did you arrange this? Thanks for the help Carol.
God bless you,
Annette
