Scope Update!

So I went for my scope today (in the horrid snow storm that we had). It took me two hours to get there instead of 1 hour, but we made it.... All went well, I do remember it all, but it didn't hurt a bit.... They were checking for a possible stricture or ulcers... WELL!!!! They found BOTH!!!! Yes, I said both... they dialated the stricture to 15 mm and I am now on medications for the ulcers and I have to go back and have another scope done in 2 months... I have not tried to eat yet since my scope, but they told me it should be very different. I did drink a yogurt smoothy and it went down soooooo much easier.... So Happy Valentines day to all, hopefully mine will be good and I can enjoy a nice dinner with hubby now... that would be cool... Thanks for all the concerns and advice.... Shawn M.

Dear Shawn, It's good that they found something so that they can take care of it. Looks like 6-7 people for the 24th, and I've put in an order for a splenda BLUEBERRY pie for the lunch at the PIE company. Thanks Stacey..... I am glad that they figured it out too and it wasn't just in my head...LOL... I can't wait for the 24th to get here... How much to the pies cost... maybe I could buy a second pie, like apple or cherry??? Just wondering... I am not a blueberry fan, but I would be more than happy to pay for a pie so we can have 2 there... Let me know how much they are and if you can order another one or not.... I can't wait to get out of this house for a couple of days... I don't have too many movies, but I could bring a couple unless you have a lot.... Well, I need to rest... Well, the pie I am getting isnt free after all. Bummer. I have to pay 8.00 (half price) for a pie I won't even eat. Anyway, the splenda pies run 15.99 each, and the choices are apple and cherry. I don't eat either, or blueberry. Just had to make a decision today and now I'm wondering if I should get a pie at all. Regardless, it will be fun, people can get what they want and if you decide you want to order a splenda pie, I need to know no later than Monday next week. Stacey

Why don't you email everyone and find out the majority for apple or cherry and then order whichever... I like both so either is fine for me... and I will cover the $16 when I get there, if that is ok..... The 24th can't get here soon enough for me.. LOL.... Glad to hear the scope went so well for you, Shawn. You won't believe the difference in how you feel when you eat. Hopefully the ulcer will clear up soon. Did they tell you where it was located, or guess as to why it formed? Just curious. What a day to have to be out and about! Take care. Debra M.

Thanks Debra!!! They did show me a picture and tell me where it was at, but I don't really remember... I was still a bit woozy from the meds they gave me... I think they said it was right at the opening where the staples were put, I can't really remember though.... Shawn M.

Wow a double for your money. Glad you have been seen and treated. I think your Dr. is smart to just schedule you for another scope. My second stricture came back so fast that I was actually telling myself that I was having trouble with eating because I was still imflammed from the first dilation. My surgeon always put me on a clear liquid and advancing to a soft by the third day. I hated it because I could finally eat and been living on liquids for so long. I think that was harder then my two week pre-op diet. When my strictures where at their worst I wanted to take my anit-ulcer med like it was a new crack addiction. It was so hard to find relief. I can not imagine how it would feel with an ulcer on top of it. OUCH!! Glad you made it through these nasty roads and I hope they are nice and clear for your next travels Positive vibes Megan
