Pre-surgery procedures

So, i may have the surgery tomorrow or next week. Dr. Krause had some cancellations and told me that we could do is as soon as i want to. Things were moving very slowly and now they are moving too fast! What kinds of stuff did you have to do in the 24 hours prior to surgery. I asked him as a joke if he could do it tomorrow and he said, "as a matter of fact, I might be able to." But I haven't been fasting or doing anything. Thoughts?

The only thing I was required to do was fast for 24 hours and clean out my system. They had me drink this stuff that I picked up from the drugstore (although you can also take laxatives as an alternative, I found that out after the fact....thanks doc, lol) and they had me use 2-3 enemas. I was able to drink clear liquids the day before and that's about it.

i talked to the office a few minutes ago and we are set for tomorrow at 9:30. But all she said I had to do was not eat after 12:00am...what is the difference?

Different surgeons have different methods of prep. Also, you are probably having a different type of surgery than I did, which would probably make a difference. You have to keep in mind that I had surgery 6 years ago and things have dramatically changed. Good luck tomorrow.
