In the past I have had bad chest pains and went to the emergency room only to find out my pains were not my heart as they done lots of test. Here it is months later and I still have these horrible pains, I called my surgeon and talked to his nurse and she said i needed to go to my reg dr. I want to know if anyone has had these pains and if they have any idea what they might be? sometimes there so bad i sweat and curl up with pain, i think it might be gas pains as i had chili for lunch...i need help.....i had my gastric bypass a year ago jan 30 2006.

Do you still have your gallbladder? If so that may be the culprit or there may have been something in the chili that made you dump. Sounds similar to my dumping episode to me.

Have they checked you for a hiatal hernia or acid reflux? I have both and sometimes they cause chest pain. Chili is something that would majorly set it off for me too.

It is no fun being in that kind of pain; as well as being very frieghtened by it! I agreen with a few of the others on here; it could be your gallbladder! A few years ago I went in thinking it was a heartattack; and it was an actual gallbladder attack! The doctor at the ER told me the feel almost exactly the same; and are both very painful! Mine was an underfunctioning gallbladder, and I was miserable! Eating even became a problem before I had it removed! So get it checked out. Hope you begin feeling better soon!!!! Sincerely, Judy R
