i'm not sure what they do but Dr. Schuhknecht and Dr. Kohl's Real Weight Loss Solutions is supposed to have other programs besides just surgery and since i can't say enough good things about the both of them, i'd give their office a call and see what they have to say. I'm sure that they'd listen to you and if they didn't have what you're looking for they'd be able to help you find it. Dr. S. is an amazing man who TRULY cares about his patients and goes out of his way to help them. i'm really lucky and grateful that i was referred to him. And the few times i've seen Dr. K, i've gotten the impression that he's the same kind of guy. I really have a lot of trust and faith in them. They've done a lot for me and have been so wonderful about it.

Oh i didn't know this, i'll give them a call and see what they offer too. I've been watching her the last week really close when she sleeps. She snores loud, and then all of a sudden stops and chokes. We both know what that is, i need to get her tested asap. Maybe a cpap will change her mind about eating huh? Thanks for the reply. I believe that Weigh****chers might have a program for kids, I think from 10-18. You should call them and see what they have to offer. I believe this is probably the most sensible weight loss program - no fad diets with them!

I don't think weigh****chers is what i'm really looking for. I need a good program that covers all the basics, counseling, exercise and nutrition. Like us, she needs to re-learn how to take care of her health and body. Thanks for the reply Hugs Linda

Hi, I went on Medical Weight Loss and lost 120 lbs. They have a program specifically geared torwards teenagers and I have heard that kids have had good results. It sure did work for me. They teach you how to eat and how to get the proper nutrition. It can be expensive, some insurances do cover it, but its totally worth it. Hope this helps. If you have any questions, PM me. Ken

Hi Ken, welcome to the board. What is the program like? Does it require pills? That scares me. I don't care about the cost, i'll figure something out. How long did it take you to lose so much? You've done a great job, congrats! Hugs Linda

I don't have kids but . . . I was that kid. Sneaking food, overeating, constantly hungry - why? That is something I still struggle with - 3 years post-op, size 10. I think you need to help her find peace with food and herself. It is not easy at 10 years old - it's not easy at 30. All I know is the more my mother hounded me, the more people talked about me the more I ate and the bigger I got. I would strongly recommend counseling because unless she wants to change all the food restrictions in the world won't help. Even after WLS you can still gain weight - even all of the weight back you just have to eat your way around the "tool" - there is no quick fix.

Ya know, i really don't hound her. I talk to her and teach her how to make good choices, which she does when i'm around. I've taken away school lunces though, and she doesn't like that. In ponitac the lunches are all fried fattening food, hardly ever fruits or veggies. I send her a healthy lunch and it's usually what she likes. But you know i've recently found out that she's eating that plus getting a school lunch. So i need to get a note from her doctor with dietary guidelines. I was the same way my whole life til wls, so i knew exactly what to look for. I feel bad for her and so don't want her to go where i once was. And yes, being two and a half years post op myself, i know there are ways around this tool. I'm just thankful to have the knowledge i have now to know how to not gain it back. Thanks for the reply Hugs Linda
