Hi Everyone, Well finally all healed from septic seroma's! Everyday I am gaining strength. I am still struggling a little to get my protein and water in; just not enough hours in the day! Today I did my treadmill , I went 3/4 of a mile in 22 minutes. Not great to all but a wow for me. Tomorrow hubby is bringing me home a new recumbant exerise bike.. I will be switching back and forth. I heard exercise increases metabolism?? My weight loss is at 45 lbs now. Most of which I lost before surgery. Before 27, due to cold turkey giving up all pop, junk food and sugar. Now I am just waiting for the real WLS loss to kick in.. Going into 4th week post op soon.. I am still full of question and wonder. This surgery is like buying a new itlain sports car; and not really having a clue knowing how to drive it. You must ask questions, take lessons, and learn one thing at a time. It could be dangerous if you don't pay attention to your new you! I want to thank everyone on here for your support, advise, and answers. Have a great day all. Hugs.. Judy R

I'm glad to hear you're doing so much better. Just take it one day at a time and you'll get it figured out. hugs linda

Gld you are over that rough spot with the infections. That had to been tough. I too am still learning...I am a little disappointed...I know I need to not get on the scale everyday....but it seems I am not losing as fast as I thought I would. I get all my protein and I am between 700- 900 calories. I do struggle with getting my water in..I definitely get in at least 40 oz....but that last 24 oz is tough...like you said not enough hours in the day. I am still very tired. waiting for that energy to kick in. I feel ok...just tired. The weather doesn't help I am sure. I am walking 10 minutes at 2.5 mph. I am not giving up...believe me...but we both seem to be struggling with getting things going perhaps....with the weight loss. I came home at 268 and am now 248. But I know that was some water too. Do peope lose weight faster?

WLS is a marathon NOT a sprint. I know it is easy to fall into the "weigh myself daily trap" as almost everyone does. However, you will find it much easier to stay on track and keep your sanity if you only weigh yourself once a week at the most. Taking such a drastic step with WLS in unknown territory causes one to want immediate results. You didn't put on the weight in 3 months, so you can't expect to lose it suddenly. Take it slow and steady knowing that as long as you follow the prescribed program from your surgeon, you WILL be successful. The finish line may seem very far away right now. Take it one step at a time and soon you will look back and be amazed at how far you've come. Keep smiling and stay positive! Jon
