PLEEEEEZE ..... I am 20 months out. My weight has stayed the same for about the last 9 months. No gains, no losses. I still have 65-75 lbs. to reach goal. I need some encouragement, kicks in the pants, .... whatever it takes to start losing again. I am beginning to believe that I am meant to remain at this weight. Is that possible??? (But being 5' 6" tall, I doubt it.) Anyone else ever gone through something like this? Please get back to me fast. Pam 336/224/down 112 lbs.

I am in about the same boat you are. I'm about 19 months out. Haven't lost weight in a LONG time...like last June? Doesn't seem to matter what I do...watch what I eat, exercise, etc. It's frustrating, but I'm still happy with my progress. Just REALLY want to lose what's left. Email me anytime! Tina

Hi Tina, It is good to know there is someone out there experiencing this. I agree with you - I am extremely pleased with my progress so far and would do it all over without a second thought. But - I want to finish what I started and get to goal! I think that I will try decreasing the amount I take in some more and see what happens. I'll keep you posted. Have a great weekend. Pam

I had a slump once upon a time. It lasted for about 6 months. My doctor recommended that I stop snacking and only eat 3 meals a day. That seemed to jump start things. Talk to your surgeon and see what he recommends. Julie

Tell me what a normal menu is for you. Are you snacking and if so, what? How much water are you drinking and how much protein? Are you exercising? Let me know, i'm the perfect person to kick ya in the pants and get you going. Hugs Linda

Hi Pam, I had a stall at 12 months, where I was not only not losing, but creeping up a couple of pounds. It really scared me when I saw the scale moving upwards. I had slowly allowed more carbs into my diet, especially grains, sometimes potatoes and pasta. I was primarily eating whole grains, but still more than I should be. So starting on the first of that month (May), I was totally scrupulous in not eating any grains whatsoever. No whole grain breads, cereals, oatmeal, no white flour, no brown or white rice, no potatoes, nada, zilch, nothing. I concentrated completely on protein with low carb veggies, such as cauliflower, cabbage, lettuce, etc. It was pretty much the "plateau buster" diet, with healthy veggies. I ate cheese, nuts, all meats, liquid protein, etc. I was amazed at the results. I dropped about 15 pounds in the first 15 days of the month. I kept at it for the entire month of May, and lost a couple of more pounds. After that shock to my system, my weight loss continued pretty steadily after that. A month of eating that way retrained my eating patterns. It took some determination, but the results paid off. I was also increasing my exercise during that time, too. Now I am at maintainance, having gotten below my goal after my tt in September. I have allowed grains back into my diet after that month. In fact, on the first of June, I welcomed whole grain bread back into my life. But, if I notice my weight starting to creep up more than three pounds, carbs are the first things I cut out until it drops back again. I am one of those people who weigh every day, to keep a close eye on any weight regain. There are so many differing opinions on protein supplementation in the OH community, but I am a firm believer that for me, it helped me reach and maintain my goal. I am fortunate to have found a protein I like and enjoy drinking every day. Are you exercising? I absolutely hate doing it, but without fail, work out a minimum of four times a week. If you aren't exercising, just starting a routine might help with your loss. Good luck to you in restarting your weight loss. Debra M. 351/139 below goal

I am 19 months post op banding. I did hit a big bump tho last year.., in october I had to have my port replaced & relocated, the 5 months previous to that I had no fill so no restriction and for 30 days post op I had none either, now I am back to regular fills and looking for my sweet spot. I have found tho that eating more often and eatng right of course I loose better. makes sense especially being hypo thyroid. eating more often keeps your metabolism going. Im still losing very very slow, but at least not gaining.
