lap rny ers
Dear Jenny,
Hi, I had my surgery on Feb. 5th; I am still not back to work. It depends on a lot of variables. I had a septic infection in my staples that set me back; watch your insicision very careful and take care of any problems right away! Also I work where I stand on my feet much of the day; and I lift a lot of heavy things. After surgery if you have a desk job I have heard you can return much sooner and easier. Talk to your surgeon and follow all his instructions. Don't try to rush your recovery or you could pay for it later. Good luck and best wishes, Judy R.
Hey Jen...After I had my LAP RNY I felt great almost right away and planned on being off wor****il just after my first dr appointment. So that would have been two weeks. Then our son in law died unexpectedly and I was off for another week because of that. But I felt great before I had my first checkup and wanted to get back to work asap. So it just depends on if you have it done lap or open and what your WLS says.
Hugs Judy
Jenny,
I have a desk job and went back after 2 weeks.
When I got to work, I was ready to pass out by lunch time. I went home and slept for 2 days and then went back feeling ok.
Depending on your job, two weeks to me is the "starting point" where you think you'll be alright, but then you'll have to judge it from there.
