Called PA at hospital, details!!

Hey Everyone, Talked to PA at hospital yesterday, she talked to my surgeon. I was really dragging my feet on going into ER. Had a very bad hospital experiance. They said as long as I could at least keep down water I can stay home until I see someone Monday; which is good because today is my birthday and don't want to spend it in a hospital. This is more detail on what is happening: I felt like there is a volcano in my stomach; and everytime I drank or ate it was like pour the hot acid like lava right back down! I have never had pain like that before. Yesterday it did make me throw up. After talking to PA and her talking to surgeon they called me in a drug for ulcers called Carifate; and they also doubled my nexum. PA just called me again, she said I sound dehydrated. At least this time I do feel like someone is listening to me, and I am going to get the help I need. The PA said I need a scope to check for sticture and ulcers. I will know more soon.. I wonder why me; why did I do this to myself. But I will have to quit whinning, and just get busy and do something. I just want to have the scope and get it over with .. Happy Birthday Judy... I was suffering on my birthday as well, so I feel for you.... I know all about the Carrifate stuff.. I am on that as well... it taste nasty in my opinion.... Once they get the scope done and fix the problem you will feel much much better... Let's hope it is an easy fix and you will back to normal before you know it..... Ulcers and strictures have the same symptoms, so it could be one or the other or even both like in my case.... I wish you much luck and I hope they fix you right up.... Shawn M.

Hi Judy, The scope isn't so bad. They put you in a twilight like state. I remember a little bit from my first one, but nothing from my second one. Anyhow if it is a stricture it's real easy to fix. They will open it up when you have the scope done. Hope you feel better soon. God bless, Annette
