Medicare approval time frame through Hurley

hi everyone thursday is the end of my six month diet! Dr. Minasian is my primary care dr. so i know everything is going to go the way it should. but i was hoping you guys could give me a time frame with medicare and medicaid. how long should i expect the approval process to take? i have a bmi of 39.1 with sleep apnea, stress incontinence and poly cystic ovarian syndrome. it's getting close! my birthday is may 11th. so i'm hoping it's before then or on that day.. how long did it take you if you went through hurley. thanks a lot!

It's different for everyone. It took me a complete year from start to surgery. Some are much faster, some take longer. No matter how long it may take don't give up. If you hang in there you will get approved. Best wishes to you Sarah. God bless you, Annette

With Medicare I think that you do not need approval like a regular insurance. You have to go to a Medicare center of health excellence for surgery or they will not cover it. Medicaid is your supplemental and they will follow the Medicare guidlines. You just have to factor in that Medicare will only pay 80% and you have your 20% copay. Goodluck Tricia
