Balance?
The timing for this post is perfect. I am so out of balance right now. I've been contemplating adding Benefiber to my coffee in the morning but I think I better get off the comtemplation wagon and start right away.
I have been like a balloon for 3 days now...gas, bloating, abdominal crampiness. On the potty several times a day(no "runnies", just frequent). It's frickin' miserable. I finally called my surgeon's office last night, afraid I might have a leak or some other horrible thing. He feels this episode is food related but said if I haven't improved in a day to go to the ER for a CT scan and belly exam.
I did try some cole slaw 4 days ago..a very small amount. It didn't bother me at all over 24 hours, so I had some more the next day. It was a new food post-op. Could have been the sugar but the package came from the deli and had no ingredients listed. Could have been the cabbage itself since it's famous for it's gasiness. Regardless, I won't be eating cole slaw again for a while. Or more than an ounce of peanuts at a time. I haven't had a lot of trouble with sugar up until now so maybe this is my version of dumping syndrome? I hope so. It's a lesson for sure.
I -do- feel a little better this morning but will stick to liquids today just to be safe.

What were you thinking, idiot! You know better than to limit drinking! Oops... oh wait... positive. Hey KP, I feel SO bad about your backed-up colon. I hope and pray you find a solution to ease your pain. I know it must be unbearable to deal with this issue. I will add you to my prayer list. I've forgotten to drink several times and had the same problem. However, we are all human and make mistakes. It happens. Maybe you can set a timer on your watch that goes off and remind you to drink. Maybe we can start a drinking support chain where people from this board volunteer to call your cell at 3 hour intervals, reminding you to drink. No matter what, know that we love you and care about your fecal problem.
