Hey Everyone, Sorry I haven't posted but I had a little side trip for my birthday to a direct admitt to the hospital Sunday!!!What I thought was heartburn was only a small part of it. I had a stricture; and a bad ulcer. I became servely dehydrated; and my potasium was in the danger zone (they said I could have had a heart attack)! By the way getting potasium in your vien burns like none other! So yesterday I had a scope done, and I am only 4 weeks out; anyway they found this stricture I was only at a 7, and they dialated me to 15! They doubled my Nexum to twice a day, put me on Carafate, and Reglin. Last night I finally got a popsicile and kept it down that was like a million bucks. I had no idea what a sticture was; for those who don't know it is when your openning closes up to small to let food pass through. And I could barely manage water. I had learned a valuable lesson! I think I am done with the bad things now I have had 3; septic wound infection, stricture, and an ulser. I have to go back in six weeks to have another scope to make sure it stays open! A lot of you on here told me to call the surgeon; as I did. Thank you.. For all of us listening to our bodies and paying attention to the warnning signs are key.. Sincerely, Judy R.

Hi Judy, Boy you have been through the wringer and you still have a good attitude about it. Some of these things you have been thru in your short time since surgery would bring down the best of us. Good for you, keeping your chin up. You will look back at this in a few months and it won't seem like a big deal. Good luck to you and I am glad you are feeling much better.----Toni
