understanding PCP near metro airport

I AM LOOKING FOR A PCP TO RECOMMEND ME FOR WLS. I DO QUALIFY AT A HIGH BMI WITH NO CO-MORBIDITIES. MY CURRENT DR. TOLD ME HE DOES NOT LIKE TO RECOMMEND PEOPLE FOR THIS, HE IS MY PCP BUT I WOULD LIKE TO GET SOMEONE DIFFERENT PREFERABLY A FEMALE DR.

My friend was telling me not too long ago about a doctor that works out of Henry Ford. Her name is Kimberly Baker-Genaw and her husband is a bariatric surgeon there and his name is Jeffery Genaw. I think that some people on this board had him. I don't know from personal experience but it would seem that if she thought you needed the surgery she may refer you to him. Holly W

Dr. Janice Summers is in Livonia, Ann Arbor Road just off 275. 734 464-9200. She just changed offices, I haven't been to this new one yet. She is supportive and understanding, has had wls patients who were 10 years out from surgery. I am very confidant in her. Not all insurances/doctors require approval from a pcp before surgery but it is important to have one!

My PCP is Dr. Jamie Weinstein out of U of M Domino's Farms. The number is 734.647.5640. She's really a great doc, and totally pro WLS. I hadn't considered it and she actually approached me about it.
