I was asked to sing in some contest and I need some help picking a second song. (First song I am singing is Crazy by Gnarls Barkley) So....what are some of your favorite songs? You don't have to just list female artists either, I want all suggestions. Thanks.

I like any song from Christina Aguilera...you could do something sassy like her new one, Candyman. Or....hmm, maybe wow I can't even think today. Let's see here, I'm quite young so I like all that hip hop, dance stuff.

I'm not that old, lol. I'm only 29. I wish I was able to use live musicians (it's a karaoke contest....boo... ) because I thought about doing Candyman. I found one karaoke track for that song, but it sucked so bad. I just cannot bring myself to sing along with it.

I did "What a girl wants" in the lobby of the Palace one night before I had to fly. It was good. kp

I'm partial to Two Live Crew's - Me so Horny. I also like Sir Mixalot's - Baby Got Back It was what I sang at my nephew's Barmitzvah. kp

Julie; I am not really good at picking out songs. I like alot of country! Hope everything goes well. Let us know how it turns out. Wish I was brave enough to sing! Kudos to you!!!

There's a little dive bar near my friends house where we occasionally go to have too many drinks and make asses of ourselves by singing karaoke. i usually go for "living on a prayer" by bon jovi or "don't stop believing" by journey. the perk of picking the journey song is getting to sing "born and raised in south detroit!" lol

What kind of music do you like to sing the most? I was lead singer in my band for 22 years, and since have been hosting karaoke up north for the past 5 years, so got LOTS of material. I love anything soulful like Bonnie Raitt, but I also love country music these days, like Gretchen Wilson, Carrie Underwood, etc. Gladys Knight is always a good choice..."Midnight Train to Georgia". I think it's always best to do an upbeat song, to get the crowd behind you. Although I'd prefer to sing a great ballad, the crowd may get bored at a "contest". If you are looking for a good karaoke backup, Sound Choice is the BEST for TRUE TO THE ARTIST renditions. Great backup vocals on these too. I have lots of stuff...let me know if you need a copy or want to borrow one. Best of luck! Theresa
