Do you eat breakfast & other ???
OH, I'm so glad you're going to the seminar! You'll like Dr Hing; he's a very nice man, and he came very well recommended. I haven't seen any before & after pics of his patients, but several people have posted saying I was in great hands! I refer hand surgery patients to him, but wasn't aware that he is more well known as a ps who specializes in bariatric patients after wls. And one really good thing is that even if your insurance pays only for what they consider a "panni", he does them all as a full TT with muscle tightening, no extra charge!
His nurse/assistant Heidi is a sweetie and Amy Trucks, the person who handles the appts and money stuff is awesome!
Let me know how you like him
good luck, Donna
I get my cretinous arse out of bed and make/drink a protein shake every day. I follow that by a cup of coffee on the way to Romper Room.
As an RNY patient
WE HAVE TO EAT BREAKFAST EVERYDAY NO EXCEPTIONS.
Sorry. I shouted. It is important that we eat this meal or we will go into starvation mode and begin to take the vitamin and mineral stores out of our bones and become B and calcium deficient.

1. How long after you wake up do you eat?
I get up around 5. Around 6, I eat a bowl of instant weight control oatmeal with fresh blueberries in it. Sometimes I will make a scrambled egg/sausage mixture and eat a wrap with that in it. But MOSTLY I eat oatmeal.
2. Breakfast eaters and non eaters ~ Do you struggle with night time snacking?
Not usually.
3. What do you snack on?
Sometimes I have a few crackers or a South Beach protein bar. Lately, I've been into swiss cheese and crackers.
4. I usually eat around 5 or 5:30. Depends on what I have for dinner. I do a lot of chicken and salad. But I usually don't snack before bed.
5. Don't go to bed to stop eating.
I am just over 18 months out and still don't have feelings of hunger. I often eat because it's time to eat. I know if I don't eat, my sugar will drop and I don't want to pass out in class. I struggle with whether or not I should eat because I don't feel hungry. But I'm afraid to wait until I get those low sugar feelings.
Awww Annette,
Soo many great question. You could have called this 5 questions.....LOL.
I have to have a routine when I get up or I will for get something, So in the morning I get up, do the morning bathroom rituals, go down stairs set up my pills for the day, I take many vitamins and suppliments 2x's a day. Then I make instant oatmeal the Quarker weight control brand or regular. I like the weight control because of the high fiber content, then I add fiber sure to it as well as cinnamon and diced apples or rasins
every so often I will have eggs. Eggs are good for you but I need the fiber.
My biggest issue is night time snacking. They are alway healthy snacks, such as a protien, or fruit. I love apples w/ peanut butter. I don't sleep well so that makes it worse. So no going to bed early isn't an option for me. God Bless you Annette, take care---Toni
About an hour after I get up I have Ram's Horn chili with cheese and onions, oops, I mean Weight Control maple flavor with a little plain oatmeal and some seeds (pumpkin or flax or sun flower). I don't add milk, jus****er. I'm a regular gal that way.
I eat lunch late (the oatmeal keeps me full a long time) and dinner later and try to stave off snacking that way. Choosing and fixing herb tea helps, so does making cocoa with Splenda. If I really think I am hungry, I wait twenty minutes and then have a protein drink. I was having an all-protein snack every evening but I don't think cashews and cheese were in my best interest.
I'm not a breakfast eater.
When I'm working I have a ****tail of no sugar added Carnation Instant breakfast, milk, and a scoop of protein (either 100% Whey (Chocolate Carmel) or Designer Whey Chocolate Peanut Carmel. That's at 7 on the drive to work.
About 10 I may have a banana, Dannon Light yougurt 4 oz or 6 ox. Sometimes I had Wendy's eggs or (really bad) the new chicken breakfast sandwich they have. I know not many Wendy's have breakfast but where I work they do serve it.

Even at a year out my pouch doesn't like anything solid for breakfast. I usually get up about 6:30am and have an EAS protein drink. Once kids are off to school I crawl back into bed for awhile. I work second shift and usually never make it to bed much before 1am, so I need a bit more sleep. I usually get back up around 9:30 or so and have some blue bunny yogurt or make myself some cottage cheese pancakes. Even at that time eating doesn't come real easy. It seems my pouch wants a far amount of liquids before it decides that it will cooperate with solids. I don't throw up at all, it just sits real heavy.
I usually do have a bit of a night time snack when I get home from work. It's usually a protein bar or some other protein product from my surgeon's office. I'm usually heading to bed about an hour or so later.
Sure! I actually have two different recipes. One is more sweet and one is more cheesy/egg tasting. I'll post them both.
The following recipes were found on www.bariatriceating.com
SUSANS'S COTTAGE CHEESE PANCAKES
Half a medium onion, chopped
1 tablespoon butter (used a few sprays of "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" Spray instead)
1 egg
1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese
2 tablespoons flour (I used whole wheat flour)
salt
pepper
Saute the onion in the butter until golden... allow to cool in pan. In a small bowl,
beat egg slightly, blend in cottage cheese, flour, salt and pepper, and onion butter
mixture. Heat nonstick skillet, spray with Pam, and place four 1/4 cup scoops of batter
and spread into small pancakes. Coo****il browned... flip and coo****il lightly brown
on other side. YUMMY!
Linda's Cottage Cheese-Oatmeal Pancakes
1 c. oatmeal, ground (measure BEFORE grinding in a food processor)
1/2 t. baking soda
1/8 t. salt
3-4 T. Splenda Granular
1/4 t. pumpkin pie spice (or combination of other sweet spices you like)
Stir together above ingredients in a mixing bowl. In a seperate bowl whisk together:
4 eggs
1 c. cottage cheese
1/3 c. milk
1 t. vanilla
Add to dry ingredients and let sit for a few minutes. Spray a small skillet with
non-stick spray. Heat over medium. Pour 1/3 c. into hot pan and coo****il cake
is getting dry on the top (but lower heat if it gets too dark on bottom). Turn
carefully and continue to cook for a few minutes. (These are difficult to flip
if you don't let them cook enough on the first side.) Can cool and stack on a plate
and wrap tightly with plastic wrap.
These are sooooo good with plain yogurt and a squirt of sugar-free syrup. Or peanut
butter and syrup, or jam and cool whip.........the possibilites are endless!
Approx stats: 6 pancakes - 10 pro grams/each - 152 calories/each
I was able to refrigerate and save the pancakes I can't eat. Just let them cool and wrap them individually in saran wrap. They should keep for at least a few days in the frig. I just nuc them in order to reheat them.
ENJOY!!!
