Hey Julie, When I was having Pain on my left side I was told by my p.c.p. that there is nothing on my left side to cause pain like that. After several more Dr. Visits, lots of pain, a 5 day stay in a hospital (not the one my surgeon works from), and a lot more pain it turned out that I had a RARE INTERNAL PENDERSEN HERNIA. I'm not saying this is what is wrong with you, but ask the Dr. to check it out. It wasn't found in me until my Surgeon (Dr. Carlin) went in surgically and found it. He told me if we had waited just one more day I would have been dead. Don't let them tell you nothing is wrong. Pain is the body's way of telling us something is wrong. Best wishes to you. God bless you, Annette

I would be so upset, after the surgeon going in twice, if I had an internal hernia and he didn't catch it.

Julie- My case is a rare one but the left sided pain that I had was cured when they removed my remnant stomach. It was more trouble than it was worth. Good luck- Char

Remnant stomach? Is that affiliated with having a pouch? I don't actually have a pouch. When I had my surgery the surgeon removed a portion of my stomach so I just have a smaller stomach with no pouch.

Julie- I don't know about your surgeon but mine leaves the remnant stomach in there after they make the new pouch. My remnant is what was causing my problems. That is why they removed it. Hope this helps. Char
