I have a new date :-D

Well I have talked to my wife and also looked on these boards and have been given the chance to have my surgery done by Dr. Wagner on Wednesday 21 at 7:30. Yey no more liquid diet crap, I just want to chew something. Hope all Dr. Obeid's patients the best of luck when he gets back. These boards have become very useful. I usually don't come to boards very often but the people here are great thanks again to everyone. Scott

Best of luck to you, Scott! I got a phone call from Hurley today to change my already revised appointment time (was supposed to be tomorrow the 20th, changed to the 27th by them last week). I was prepared for this because of your kind post about Dr. Obeid on here. I had called my insurance to ask if I could see someone else in the practice and if it would still be covered, and then have Dr. Obeid do the OR when the time came. Fortunately Dr. Wagner is also covered. I'm glad, and I'll be seeing Dr. Wagner the 27th, just a little later in the day on the 27th than I would have seen Obeid. So it looks like Dr. Obeid is going to be off for a while. I hope things get better for him soon. And good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery!!!

How ya doin Faith? I was a bit upset at first but I had to look at it like this. He is also just a man who has family and if I was in his shoes and something went wrong with my kids or wife or close family I would also cancel. That might **** him off also but, it just goes round and round from there. Ya I wish him luck in what ever happened, they are keeping a tight lip on what has gone wrong so I just hope he is well and his family also of course. Well great the 27th huh. I will try my damnedest to get back here asap to let you know how thing went and keep you abreast on whats up. I had the same thing happen to me from a patient I meet here that lived in Flushing and the things she told me were so helpful I wish I could repay her ( not really skylarblu hehe ). But seriously what she has told me of post op and what she has done pre op has taken the weight off my shoulders. Thanks Scott, I'll keep an eye on this thread and any others you may write. I completely agree that Dr. Obeid must take care of his family. From the information session I attended he seems like he is one of the most genuinely warm, kind, but honest surgeons I've met. And I've met probably more than a thousand in my life time. I understand and completely support the need for him to cancel, and I am just very glad that the practice is offering to reschedule with Dr. Wagner who also seems (from the posts I've read) like a really great guy as well. I'd love to know more about what Hurley requires pre-op in terms of diet. Take care!
