Today I spent the day again at the McLaren Cancer Center receiving iron infusion for anemia. I have done this now a total of 8 times and everytime I walk away feeling blessed for what God has done for me. I spend the day with people that are there for all sorts of chemotherapy. Some are old and some are middle aged and some are 17 or 18 years old. Most are bald or balding and what I have seen they are still smiling and concerned about each other. I don't see them wallowing in pity and although not all are overly friendly, most are sweet and happy individuals. I tell you all this because I have been thinking today that we were given a second chance to try and avoid alot of horrible medical problems with this surgery and we should remember that, although life can throw you curve balls, we are responsible for our health and happiness. So get going on the program, use your pouch rules, do your daily excersize, quit smoking, take your vitamins, do your follow up checks and yearly physicals, and be grateful and compassionate to others. Lecture over. Lots of love to all, Wendy

Thanks Wendy, It is good for us to be reminded. I have spent the last couple of day's with my mom, she had to have cataract surgery so she stayed with me for a couple of days, Well, my parents are the reason I had surgery in the first place. I don't want to be my parents in 20yrs. They are both overweight, numerous health problem, i.e. heart disease, diabetes, on and on. My mom is only 64 and has had these issues a long time!!! Many major health issues. I know what I do now will show 10-20yrs from now. Like when some don't follow the rules early out, and still lose, (I have seen this many times) they think that they are fooling there bodies and and can do whatever they want, well IT WILL catch up with them. I don't have the problem with food, but I do with exercise. I am doing my best to step it up more each day. I just remind myself that I need to remember just how lucky I am to be able to walk, exercise, and get around on my own. I know that if I wouldn't have lost the weight I would, be headed down the same road as my parents. Thank God for this second chance at a good positive and healthy life we have. Thanks so much Wendy.....Toni
