Hello all well I am done with surgery and all went well. I was the only patient who had the surgery that day that went home.I think a hole lot of it goes to the care from the nurse's and my personal nurse my wife Dawnn. She was great reminding me to drink and walk and get out of the bed as soon as possible. I only have a few little discomforts from the staples and that has started since I got home and getting out of our flat bed. But thats it no pain killer needed as of yet. Ok well just thought you all might want to know. The hardest thing there is to do that I felt is to try and get all the trapped gas inside. As soon as I burped a few times I felt like a million buck and still do. Chat at you soon.... Scott

Congratulations, welcome to the losing side. It sounds like your wife is a great support for you. It makes such a differents when you have a good support system. My husband took great care of me, I had mine open so I had a lot more healing and when I had TT he was there for me too. He hates to see me in pain. Good luck to you both. God Bless---Toni

Glad to see you are doing well Scott! Remember that the pain killers will cause constipation, so if you don't need them, that's good. Give your wife a big hug and kiss and let her know how much you appreciate her! Good luck, Brenda

Thanks Brenda, I have not been on any pain meds since the day after surgery. Yesterday my wife and myself and the kids went to Super Wal Mart here in Grand Blanc and went shopping for about an hour and then went to Panera Bread for dinner. I had French Onion Soup and only ate the broth and my daughter who is 17 months old ate the rest of the onions and bread. Oh my gosh was that good. I had a little discomfort after the excursion but still did not need any pain meds. As my wife goes, she is an R.N. and did know what I should do and yes she made me do everything and somethings twice. My wife is an awesome women and I am so lucky to have here. She has taken such good care of me. Scott

Ok sounds great. Ok so how much have you walked yet? I have been to Super Wal-Mart and went shopping there for 1 hour and today I had to go to Lowes with my wife and then came home and about 6 went on a walk with the wife and kids for about 6 blocks, I am wiped out tonight. I am still trying to get to 80 grams of protein. I am getting anywhere between 60 and 70 grams but hell I am tired of drinking hehehe. Good Luck Jenny and keep in touch. Scott
