Face to Face Appeal
Hi all,
I have an appointment this coming Thursday for a face to face appeal with BCN. Does anyone know if they really only allow 15 min. for this? I am driving 250 miles for this and I have to make the most of it. I am taking all of my medical records and all correspondence with BCN. Should I prepare a speech? Any imput would be appreciated.
Forever Grateful,
Joni

Joni they give you 15 minutes to talk, but i think they will give you longer if you need it. When i went for mine a few years ago (could have changed now) there were five ppl from bcn in the room , we all sat at a long conference table. I remember one person was the doctor who denied me before, the others were from the appeals department. After i talked they all asked me questions about why i thought i would succeed at wls and stuff like that. Make sure to be totally ready for anything they ask. You definately should prepare a speech, send me your email and i'll send you the speech i used so you can get an idea of what to say. Good luck on thursday

HI Joni, Linda is a blessing to get support from, I too was also in your same shoes with the numerous denials from BCN. I went to this site and posted as your doing and Linda helped me in preparation with my BCN meeting, I went last july and they did not want to hear a speech from a piece of paper I had to say it from my heart and I actually cried and apparently it worked, the next day I called them for something else and they told me that I was approved I was totally shocked. At the meeting it went by very quick and mine only had 3 people there. Just make sure that you tell them how your weight effects your everyday life and go into detail it will work, good luck and keep us posted. When is your meeting? if you have anymore questions you can ask me or linda.
