picture impaired

Greetings from sunny Cota Rica! i am taking pics with my little digital camera....but when i download them to my puter they are huge! like over 1300 whatevers! grin what can i do to resize them so that i can more easily send them per email...right now they take forever to send.........thanks so much, rae

Is there a setting when you download them to save as a *.jpg file. It sounds like they are beings saved as *.bmp files. What program are you downloading them to? Jeanne
