After months of waiting, I can't believe how fast things are moving now! I've been lurking here for a while now, but just HAD to post today. I got my insurance approval letter the very end of February/beginning of March. Since then, I have had a stress test/EKG March 20, paid Barix March 23 and today they called with PAT visit of April 4 *** that's NEXT WEEK!!!!) and a surgery date of April 10th! WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!! I can't believe how nervous and excited I am all at the same time! Wish me luck!

Congrats on getting a date Jamie..... I know exactly how you feel.... Things seemed to be creeping along for me and then all of a sudden BAM... my date was set and I was having my surgery..... The mixed feelings are normal... Good luck on a successful surgery and a speedy recovery... Shawn M.

Looks like luck is on your side. I remember how I felt when I was told it was time to set a date. My stomach felt like the first drop on a rollercoaster. I never expected things to progress as quickly as they did and I didn't have my "head around" the whole concept. I ended up chickening out for my first date of April 2006. It took me a whole year to get the courage up to go for it. By the last week pre-op, the nervousness subsided and I become more and more excited about it.

Dear Jamie, Best of Luck and well wishes for a speedy recovery to you. One thing it will probably take you longer to bounce back than you might think it would! I know it did me. Normal to be nervous and excited; you have a lot of support and friends here. People are great here at that; and ? are always welcome. Where are you having your surgery; and what type. Had mine RNY on Feb 5th at Hurley. I am finally getting some energy and feeling human again. Don't forget chewable vitamins and calcium very important to your recovery! Need chewable because the others won't absorb! Your dream is on it's way.. Sincerely, Judy R.
