has anyone ever tried these? i just found them on amazon.com. noodle shaped tofu... which, as far as i can figure is a pasta made out of tofu (a great source of protein) i'm thinking these would be great for a "pasta fix" after wls... a 4 ounce serving has 3 g of carbs and 1 g of protein (that seems surprisingly low, actually)... anyway, before i go nuts and stock up on them, i thought i'd se if anyone's tried them... http://www.amazon.com/s.html/103-1748642-6074248?ie=UTF8&node=3580501&brand=House%20Foods% 20America%20Corporation

Personally, I'd prefer to go without than to try it...but to each their own lol A small portion of the real thing wont hurt either every now and again...just dont make it a staple. Dee

Hi Raphie, I've actually eaten these several times. There are two shapes of Shiro Tofu noodles, one is sort of like a thin speghetti size/shape and the other is more like fettucini. The speg noodles are extremely LOOOONG! I had to cut them up to eat them. Neither of them is bad really, but they do have an interesting odor when you open them; they come in a plastic bag and are in water. Dump them into a colander and rinse them really really well. Then you can heat them in sauce or water. They are an aquired taste I'd say :>) I liked them best when they had a sauce on them, but just a little butter spray with S&P wasn't bad either, especially if you're craving a noodle! They are ridiculously low in calories/fat/carbs compared to noodles, so if you can eat them, they do the trick. I get them at my local grocery store, they're only about $1.49 a bag. Try them and let us know what you think... Donna

Hey Ralphie, Some grocery chains also carry protein based pasta's now! I have found a good one by Barilla, it is multi grain with O'mega 3 ect. It tastes fairly good too. I got it at Walmart and Meijers. Lots of them popping up on selves. Good Luck. I made a great tuna salad with these. Cook these pasta's slightly longer! Sincerely, Judy R One's I found had more protein than that!!!

thanks for all the responses. i'll have to give it a try if i find myself wanting a noodle-fix after surgery... as you can probably tell, i don't have much idea what to expect in terms of my personal taste... and from i read i might end up loving all the same things and i might end up wanting to toss my cookies when i see my old favorites... lol
