I am doing almost everything that I am suppose to. I eat right and I exercise daily. My problem is I finally quit smoking. Now I'm gaining weight. 8lbs in 2 wks. My doctor said it will come off again but I'm so scared. After everything that I've been through in the last year and half. I can't stand to watch the numbers go up again. I was finally at goal. Those days seem to be lost to me now. My question is does any have a way to stop the cravings for carbs. I get everything else in but I keep wanting more. I even started a group at work to help control my gain but that isn't working. Please help. I really need to stop the cravings. CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE D

Hi Dawn, I feel for you girl. My DH and I both quit at the same time, He put on 35lbs I lost about 20. He ate non stop trying to feed the cravings, I knew that I would do that also so I decided to go on Atkins at the same time I quit. Everyone thought I was crazy but it worked, I was a menthol smoker so I would suck on regular sf halls cough drops, whenever I would get an urge. I am not saying that this will work for everyone, but it worked for me. I want to wish you the best, it is the best thing you can do for yourself. Good luck to you and take care-----Toni

I quit cold turkey and chewed SF gum. A friend of mine quit when she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and she chews gum still. It's been a year for her. Some people have a hard time quitting because they don't know what to do with their fingers. I carried a pen with me at times and just held it like a ciggy. This may or may not work for you, but thought I'd pass it along. Good luck. You can do it!!! Laura
