OT: Vitamin D deficiency
Research shows:
While calcium supplements generally are a satisfactory option for many people, certain preparations may cause side effects, such as gas or constipation, in some individuals.
GAS???????????????????????????????????????????????
I do know with gas prices here at 2.70 a gallon, gas could be good. Hmmmmmm.................

Stacey,
I have a very sever vitamin D deficiency. My PCP doesn't think I was absorbing anything from the over the counter supplement I was taking. He has put me on 50,000 units once a week. It is a prescription. Maybe something like this will work for you too. I have been taking it now for about three months and my levels have come up some but are still not in the normal range yet. A vitamin D deficiency can be very dangerous and we all should make sure our doctors are checking for it. Mine has caused some permanent kidney damage but likely my doctor caught it in time so I shouldn't have anything to worry about. I have two other friends (both have had WLS) who have since my problems had their doctors check their levels and they were way to low also. They both have been put on the same prescription I am on. Take care, Fran
