Hey all, I have about a month left before sugery and I have been trying to find a protien drink I like....... any suggestions? Does anyone know if you can buy sample packs anywear? I have bought a few but it isn't a variety pack so I feel like I'm wasting money because I really didn't like a couple. The Dr's want me to start a week before surgery so it isn't such a shock. I'm okay with that, but I'm not liking spending $15 for 4 cans of something I don't like. I ordered off line from barietric eating.com I didn't not see sample, or variety packs. Same w/GNC I looked on line and saw none. So I was wondering what everyone else has done? Thanks for the help! B

Have you tried the Unjury Chocolate? It's wonderful and got me through my first month. I am lactose intolerant now and can't do the shakes anymore. But Unjury is wonderful and reasonably priced. You can order at Unjury.com. Stacey B

Hi ! When is your surgery date ? and congrats also. Mine is April 30th and my dr wants me to start a high protein diet on the 15th so I started now to get me going. I bought samples at Unjury.com and have enjoyed them. I also (for now) been using the atkins shakes as well (but prolly not after surgery). Unjury had reasonable prices and they are pretty good. You can even get unflavored ones at unjury and put it in about anything. From what people have told me, several people.... your taste buds change so don't stock up on too much. Get a little bit of this and that... if nothing else maybe you can find someone to swap with if you don't like it after surgery? Just a thought. Let me know if you have any other questions, I'll try to help LOL ~~Rona

Hi B Bariatriceating used to have a variety sample pack for like 30 bucks but i just went to the site and seen it is gone. I think she's trying to promote her new book cause now you can get the survival kit with samples and her book and the protein shaker for 49 bucks. It really is worth it just so you can find one you like and not have to buy the big containers and waste it. I found most of the stuff she sells is pretty good, my favorite is the cookies and cream and that is in that pack as well. So if you can afford to, do it. You might find a few you like so you can mix it up a bit and not gt tired of it. Hugs Linda

Hi there; I have tried a lot of different ones; but the easiest one is 50 grand slam in a can by GNC. It is a bit to thick for me so I devide it in half and add a little milk to each. Your body can only take in about 30 ml. at a time anyway. They have it in chocolate, cookies & cream, vanilla, and banana. It is cost compairative to dry when you break down the numbers; and because it is easier to tolerate with no real mixing I do much better at getting my protein. You can also get flavor free protein that you can add to soups, baking ect. Good Luck with your surgery; and Best Wishes, Judy R.
