Subways tuna fish has more fat than a McDonald's hamburger. Their 6 inch tuna sub has 31 grams of fat. I should open a fast food drive thru that serves healthy food. Why doesn't something like this exist? LOL

I think healthy choices differ for all of us at our post op level. Also, some people can't tolerate certain things- like I can't do much greens of any kind, hard to digest veggies unless mush. I was taught to eat the protein first. So I avoid salads, veggies until I've done my protein part of my meal. Then I eat what veggie I can eat, usually overcooked cauliflower, peas, and that's about it. When I go out to eat I usually look for broiled or grilled chicken, fish or beef, no bun, and then get a side of cottage cheese or baked potato and eat it plain. Salad? I get so sick on salads that I don't even bother. most restaurants these days offer "information/dietary" pamphlets/brochures on their foods. I did learn that Tim Hortons Chili has 21 grams of protein in it and is highly tolerable- more tolerable to me than Wendy's because - I can't digest the green peppers. Takes time to find information but I'd recommend going to the restaurant's website and see if they have nutritional information handy and download it and print it. Stacey W

http://dietfacts.com/ This site tells many of the "icky" fast food joints, as well as other places to eat, this helps when you actually see the fat, sodium etc that is in their food. Hope this helps you... Huggs Debbiie
