What do I do?

I am planning on having surgery, but haven't decided which to have yet..it's between the bypass and the sleeve. Can someone give me pros and cons of both surgeries? Thanks.

Judy, I had the by-pass (lap) and it saved my life. I know nothing about the sleeve procedure. Best of luck, Robin

There is good information on the Vertical Sleeve board and the Roux-en-Y board here. Just click on the Forums link to find those boards. Many of us had our insurance company agree to pay for the RNY, and only the RNY. That was the decision maker for me. I felt that Blue Cross had a good idea of what would be healthiest and most effective as well as being safest. They have access to much more information than I do. Are you starting by discussing it with your regular doctors? Have you checked with your insurance? Called your local hospitals to see what they offer? Best wishes with your journey.
