still waiting on a date for surgery !!
Depends on the surgeon how much ahead of time. If the doctor has alot of surgeries or if the hospital is booked up, many things can affect how soon you will have surgery after you get the approval. Personally, I could have had my surgery within a few weeks of the insurance approval. I chose to wait so I could lose some weight ahead of time. As you may know, the more weight you lose before surgery, the easier it is on the surgeon because your liver shrinks when you lose weight. The liver needs to be maneuvered around for the surgery, so the smaller, the better.
Hi Sherry
I talked to Dr. Foote's schedulers today. I asked hypothetically if I was approved today how far out he is scheduling surgery. They said Mid May. If I were you, I'd call them. They didn't call me to schedule my EGD and I called and now I have an appointment for it (unfortunatly also mid may). I have so far experienced that if you call they respond. Otherwise they are rather slow in getting to you.
Let me know when it is!! I have my last appointment for the pre-ops tomorrow and hope they don't take too much time getting it to the insurance for approval.
