Incision sizes

I had my surgery a St. Joe's in Pontiac and had to go to ER there two weeks post op and came to the conclusion I never wanted to have to go back to that hospital because the quality of care I received was bad. I had my gallbladder out at Beaumont hospital and liked it there, so I decided to go to the Weight Management Center at Beaumont so I could get a Beaumont doctor in case I have any WLS complications in the future. But the reason for my post is because of what the Beaumont doctor told me when he looked at my incisions. He took one look and commented what a wonderful job my surgeon had done. I told my surgeon what the Beaumont doctor said, and my surgeon told me that Beaumont WLS surgeons use a larger stapler so their patients have larger incisions than his patients have. I am so happy with my surgeon. I didn't know about the difference in incision sizes. Just goes to show how just the most minor things can make a difference between one surgeon and another. I certainly never thought to ask how big my incisions would be. I imagine there are many other surgical things like that which would make one surgeon better than the other.
