Hopefully this will post to the discussion board this time! I am hoping to have surgery and I was wondering if anyone has had RNY or the lap-band performed by Dr. Kam? I also want to know what helped you get through the 2wks before sugery liquid diet and 2wks post sugery? Finally, I was wondering how I could get my picture to show up under my profile when people click on my name... Thanks, Donna...

Well I did have mine RNY done by Dr. Kam on last week. He does not require you to do 2 weeks pre-op diet it is 3 weeks of full liquids after surgery. I am in that phase right now. I am down 18 lbs. in a week and 1 day since surgery....

Crystal, That's awesome, congratulations! 18 lbs in a week, wow! I still have to get all of my paperwork together. I hope my doctor doesn't give me a hard time about the required letter.

what insurance do you have? I had bcbs administred out of VA and they actually did not need the letter......

Dr. Kam did my surgery march of 2006, I couldn't be more pleased with him. I was fortunate enough to be able to have it laproscopic, so my healing time was shorter too. I didn't have to do 2 weeks prior to surgery only 2 days. So I can't help you with that, I am not sure if that is something new that they are doign or what. As for the picture I was so lost I emailed the board and asked them to help me. Good luck with everything and if you have any questions, get a hold of me.
