HAIR LOSS

Hi everyone!! I had my hair trimed this morning and my stylist pointedut that my hair is thinng out on top my head, is there a vitamin I can take??

As long as you have not had kidney stones (a warning on the bottle) try Biotin. You can find it at any pharmacy in the vitamin department. Or, do what I did, monitor your intake of protein, and add more, and also use a shampoo and conditioner soy protein based (such as Finesse or a Suave version)...which helps the hair NOT to fall out. I did that and had luc****il I got 2 kidney stones and cannot take Biotin any longer. Biotin is water soluble so what your body doesn't use will flush out, but check with your pharmacist to make sure. Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to inquire at your WLS surgeon's office about what they might recommend. More expensive Shampoo is available at salons called Nioxin (i think) and that is for thinning hair also but runs about 50.00 for a starter kit. Hope this helps! Stacey W

Stacey, I see you mentioned you got kindey stones from Biotin. I am currently going through some issues with my kidneys and am waiting to schedule a CT scan. I have been taking Biotin for 4 months now. I am 6 months out from surgery. I had what the doctor thought was a bladder infection with all the pain but the test came back negitive which has now led to seeing the urologist. Hi Rebecca, I use Hair, Skin and Nails formula from G.N.C. It works quite well for me. I started losing my hair at 9 months post-op. Now here I am 4 months post-op (from peterson hernia repair) and My hair is falling out again. I started using Hair, Skin and Nails Formula again about 5 days ago and can already see a difference. It costs almost $20.00 per bottle but to me it's well worth the cost. Hope this helps. Was that you at the 3day event last Saturday? If it was I looked for you after but couldn't find you. I am sorry to hear that you are going through that. I had my hair cut short before surgery because I was worried about it falling out and I have had the opposite happen. It is growing like a Chia Pet!! LOL. I really wish I wouldn't have cut it off from the start. Best Wishes. Stacey B
