OMG. I went shopping because my jeans were getting a tad baggy and on Sept 5, 2006 I was in a size 24. I JUST BOUGHT A SIZE 6 and it fits!!!!!!!!!!! I never thought I would see this. I have a hard time realizing what I actually look like so I tend to find myself still looking in the womens section and have to do a head check and go to the regular sizes. It has only been 7 1/2 months. I am down over 100 lbs. If I didn't have all of this extra skin it would be more I am sure. I was so excited that I told the check out girl and she got just as excited as I was.

Rebecca: This really gives you some hope for a better future. With it only being 7½ months out, you deserve a great gift. Something like a pair of size 6 pants... Good for you! Now go out and show the world.

Thank you Mark. I am on the top of the world today. It has been a difficult journey, but worth it. I really felt in the beginning that I would be one of the ones that the surgery wouldn't work for. I had difficulty eating and keeping food down, I had a muscle bleed that was very painfull and a stricture. Thank you for the wonderful encouragment. Rebecca

Thank you for the encouragement, a typical day for me now is much easier than it had been I had real problems eating. I start off with a little breakfast and my vitamins. Then I try and eat my small meals, somedays I can some I can't. I walk everyday. I forced myself to walk after surgery (once my doctor gave me the ok) I went to the mall and walked only if I could even tolerate a few minutes. I try my very best to follow my doctors instructions as close as possible. I have my dinner usually some seafood or fish and then I have some grapes or fruit around 8 pm. I eat NO sugar whatsoever. I limit my sugar intake to the prepared foods to no more than 2 grams. I never expected to get to this size, It just happened for me. I was never overweight until I got into my mid 20's I was always small. Once my thyroid went bad it was all up hill from there. I got up to 281 lbs at one point and was 250 on surgery day. I am only 5' tall. I feel size is relative and it is more important to concentrate on how you feel about yourself. I can not tolerate any sugar, I get so sick it isn't worth it, I can not tolerate any sugar alchohols either. The only advise I will give is to follow your doctors instructions and read food labels. This experience, although we are all going through it the outcome is so different for all of us. Don't compare yourself with anyone else. Your body will react as individual as you are, your outcome will be yours. We are all here to support you and help you in your journey. I will be thinking of you on May 11th. Come back on when your able and let us know how you are doing. Welcome to the club Rebecca

Thank you Theresa, I had been going down in sizes I was in a 14 in Jan. I have really slowed the wgt loss down now and I think I may loose another 20 lbs or so. My goal is close.
