A little bit of happy for a Tuesday...
This is a tad bit OT.... but I know you can all appreciate this... so I'll share! I posted it on another forum on OH yesterday...
The week before last, the Marketing Director for the hospital I had my surgery at called. They were interested in highlighting me this year as their featured success story. The hospital puts out a book that is given to every charitable donor featuring the services and success of the hospital programs. I'll be the girl they focus attention on in regards to the Bariatric Center. There could also be more promo stuff down the road...
Anyway, they scheduled a photo shoot last week. It went well. I have not seen all the pictures yet... but it surely was something I have not experienced before.
To make a long story short, when my best friend got wind of this, he put me in touch with the Media/Promotions department at GAP, Inc. Because of that phone call, GAP is going to be sending me digs for the next round of photos. The Marketing Director called me at work and I almost fell out of my chair. I'll be getting my first collection in the next few days. They were totally excited about the weight loss and the opportunity to have someone wear their clothing that never had before... and explained how that one phone call sparked a discussion on how there is a whole untapped market out there... (meaning us sexy post-op creatures). It was a great conversation... and I am really excited about the thought of my ass in GAP jeans throughout the year!
Please don't take this as a brag! I had to share... it made my day! I am just really excited that major retailers have something to think about... US!!
