Hi All just wondering what your favorite food is these days. Mine is oatmeal (quick oats). I add a little bit of maple flavoring, a touch of cinnamon, and a litle bit of splenda. Sometimes I add about 1/4 of a small granny smith apple, or a tablespoon of rasins. YUMMY So what's your favorite and how do you make it? God bless, Annette

Good topic. My favorites change all the time. I will get on a kick with one food and eat it to death. Then I go on to something else. One favorite I don't get sick of (besides sf popsicles) is a dish called Szechuan Turkey and Eggplant. It is a recipe from my "bible", "Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery." I also love the zucchini lasagna and teriyaki turkey burgers from that book. I just now discovered something else I really like---beef jerky. Have to chew it too death, but that's kinda fun. The hardest part of eating jerky is getting thirsty and not being able to drink anything.

I have taken on the challenge of making all the foods I used to love, fat free or low fat. Take chicken piccata for example. Originally, I would have made it with gobs of butter and oil. Now, I use some chicken broth, a splash of white wine, some lemon, and a little corn starch to thicken the sauce. Oh and must have garlic, lots and lots of garlic, lol. I lightly dredge the chicken in flour and saute in a drop of olive oil. I have also been known to just spray the pan with a little Pam and leave out the oil all together. Mmmmm The other night I made low fat chicken and dumplings. For some reason though I have been craving shredded cabbage. I cannot get enough of it. For the most part I toss it with a little fat free balsamic, but I also throw some in my hot and sour soup. So that's my favorite food for the moment.

Steak. And then I like steak. Steak is good. Steak and shrimp is good, too. And steak. BTW, my definition of steak is any piece of beef that fits on the faux Foreman grill or the bbque, when I gt around to building it. So, did I mention steak?
