The only insurance that will cover arms is BCN, and they only do it if there is medical necessity, meaning rashes or interference in how your arm functions. All others consider it cosmetic only and will not touch it. However, it is not a very expensive surgery in the grand realm of cosmetics, my doctor quoted me 4700. That is low compared to a lot of procedures. He also gives discounts if you do multiple procedures, such as, if you get a tummy tuck that IS covered by your insurance, he would only charge 3700 to do the arms at the same time. Other surgeons will do this if you ask and charge less on their fees.

i had it done about 6 mos ago.......unfortunately my insurance didnt cover it but i had it done at the same time that i had my tummy tuck so there wasw a little bit of savings....i forget how much it was on total.......but i am so happy with my arms and things fit so much better..........it was not a comfortable recovery---the area is very tender........but it was well worth it good luck rae
You're not even a year out, so i don't think you should even consider it right now. So you can't wear sleeveless shirts, i dont' either. You think your arms look bad now, wait and see how they look when you're finished losing. I've lost over 200 pounds, imagine how my arms look. But i could care less, i just cover them up. If somebody sees them and says something, I don't care , i worked hard to lose the weight and get healthy. So if you want to have ps down the road, start saving now, one day you will do it.

I had mine done, and my insurance did NOT cover it nor did they cover my TT 3 years ago. I have DMC care.
My tummy looks wonderful and I am happy, my arms...well, they can only take out so much and only up to the muscle. I think, mine are still flabby, they are better don't get me wrong but, I will not go sleevless and will only still wear "long" short sleeves.
I wish u all the best.

Marie: I understand about your arms. I just got married a week ago, and my arms were flapping in the wind.
Course, I should have picked a dress with sleeves, huh? I was wondering about the insurance too---but had been told that it is not covered unless you can medically proves it needs to be done. I think it would hurt since that area is so tender. Oh well...guess my arms will keep waving long after I am gone. Take care.

Marie,
Everyone is different, I know several people who had it done and they are very pleased. I was unaware that they can only take off up to the muscle. I had 1.5 pounds taken off each arm, my arms are better but I was expecting more.
My tummy is wonderful, its been 4 years and still flat as a board. Any questons, please email me...
