Dr.Nunn (Harper Hospital) Anyone?

I have a consult appt, and am nervous going to research questions to ask etc...Anyone have experience with him and his group as he is not registered with this site though his staff did direct me here. How was your exerience, outcome? Do you feel you got good care @ Harper Hospital, and your needs were addressed? Is he easy to get ahold of if you have a question/problem? Thanks! -Sara

I went to Harper hospital, but my surgeon was Dr. Laker with Michigan Obesity Surgical Specialists. Don't think your doctor is with that group. But I can tell you that I liked the care I got after surgery on the floor.

Ah, good to know as I have my choice between Garden City & Harper but lean toward Harper as I have heard positive things about them but don't know much regarding Garden City. Thanks for responding to my post! -Sara

If Garden City is your other choice, then definitely choose Harper. I had my surgery at Harper and was DEFINITELY pleased with the care I got for my sugery and 10 days later when I was back with a bleeding ulcer! I've not had experience with the doc you've mentioned though. I've also dealt with Garden City hospital in a different capacity and was not at all please with the care that was given. I didn't have your same doc but I did have my surgery at Harper and was very pleased with my entire experience there. I think Dr. Nunn is the speaker at the May 19th event, too......

Thanks, keep em coming! So far I am planning on Harper, just not hearing good things about Garden City. I wish I could go the 19th but am working that day. I meet with Dr. Nunn on the 17th though, I'm excited and terified all at once-lol, but oh so ready to get back to being healthy. -Sara

Hi Sara, Good luck with your wls journey. I have not heard of Dr. Nunn???? I would do some reasearch on him ask what problems (if any ) other patients have have post op. You can reasearch it thru his office & thru harper hospital I believe. I did so much reasearch on my doctor before surgery.......... And I know a few who used him. He also is a surgeon at harper. He is a Awesome doctor and his background with weightloss surgery is awesome too. I had surgery over a year ago and feel great, have had NO problems. Just a little bump, I would like to hear more responses if anyone out there has had any experiences with Detroit Bariatrics/Dr.Nunn/Harper Hospital recently? I had my psych eval today and things are moving along quickly. My appt with Dr.Nunn is the 17th and I am trying to get all my questions together. I can't believe how quickly things are rolling along. I am still having trouble deciding between the RNY & LapBand, there are pros & cons to both. I read the complications, lapband & RNY forums and there are scary outcomes on all of them, sigh..I know I definately want to have WLS before I am a poor surgical risk, so hopefully after I consult with Dr.Nunn I will have a better grasp of which procedure is best for me. I really really want to be trim and healthy the second half of my life! -Sara
