Hey gang, My husband is a little stressed about wls and his wife, he asked me if there is a support group for spouses? or are the group meetings in doc's office his only option? Thanks, Lexia

Lexia, my husband was and sometimes still is the same way. I don't know where you at but any and all of my support group meetings my husband was welcome to go to and did but ask your dr if there are any for just hubbys. He also attended my pre-op appts (any that he could anyways). Keep him on top of everything, and if he can get on the computer (my hubby is so computer stupid lol) then have him get on this site and search as well. Also, there is a book that I bought "Weigh Loss Surgery for Dummies". Buy it for both of you. The more he is educated, and you as well.... the better your surgery will be. It's a scarey process for them as well, they worry about death and about your getting skinny and wanting to leave them, natural process for them. Just reassure and educate him is my advice. Good luc****ep us posted ! ~~Rona

My husband was totally against me having the surgery and now that I am a little over a month out he is so happy that my life is changing. I tell him everything and explain everything to him.. With me I was a diabetic and was starting to have troubles with my joints and before I had surgery I told him that if I did not have surgery I would die. Atleast after I had surgery I would have a better health status and one month out and I am no longer diabetic..I actually am hypoglycemic now...and my body no longer hurts. I hope that you can calm him down about this and he can come on here as a person supporting you.. I tried to get my husband to but he is very busy so he had no time to.. But anyway what your husband is experiencing is normal.. I wish you all the luck...
