Refugee and Super Wow moments
Hi Everyone,
Today I went to work with an old big pair of capri on and a size 2 x shirt; a co-worker came up to me and said please don't take this the wrong way but those clothes you have on today are way to big for you and make you look like a Refugee.
I know I have went from a size 24 to a size 16 and only wear an extra large to a large in tops now. Then I had to go to the funeral home and seen a lot of friends and people who haven't seen me in a very long time and they were amazed. Some said we didn't know that was you!! Along with my weight loss of now 67 lbs since Dec. I am taking pride in myself again, wearing make up; and cut, styled and colored my hair. My poor hubby never knows what is next. Today I got up early before work and did my treadmill at 5.5. incline at 3.5 miles per hr for 20 minutes; and a year ago you never could have made me do it! Even though others see a big difference I only see a small one. But sometimes I get totally embrassed when people make a fuss over it.
Best Wishes to Everyone else. I love being a part of the losers club. Sincerely, Judy R.
Hi Judy,
One of the things I couldn't wait to do was buy new clothes. I just refused to wear anything big and baggy. And, wearing clothes that fit properly really shows off your weight loss! I shopped in Salvation Army and other thrift stores once all my clothes got too big - - it really saves a lot of money.
I get embarrassed too when people make a big deal of my weight loss. I work in a very large private practice (7 doctors, 2 offices and about 60 employees) and I feel weird when my co-workers call me "skinny" - - I wonder what the patients overhearing this must think???? Because I'm NOT skinny!!
