Spoke with my PCP today about the results from the ultrasound I had two weeks ago. He said, and I quote, "you have multiple small stones and I recommend that your gallbladder be removed before you start having major problems". Next week I go back to see Dr. Pesta and I am sure, based on the recommendation from my PCP, that he will have me schedule the surgery while I am there. Another surgery....here we go again. Michelle

I know what you mean..I have had 3 surgeries in the last year. But it was my Gallbladder that went first then I had an umbillical hernia repaired then gastric by-pass... I think that gall bladder surgery went alot easier than by-pass... Let us know how things go..

Michelle, I haven't been on OH long enough to know where you are in your journey, but I assure you get the gallbladder out before it gives you trouble, it's a hassel for you now, but the alternative is miserable. Just after I first researched wls 6 or 7 years ago I had an emergency gallbladder surgery. I was sick for days before I gave in to the agonizing pain and went to ER. I spent 3 days in the hospital "stoned" until the inflamation reduced enough to go in after the gallbladder, a couple more days in the hospital post op. It was a couple weeks before I was myself and all because I put it off. I'd rather give birth than suffer through another gallbladder attack, take your docs advice and get that thing out of there... good luck, I'll pray for easy surgery and quick recovery! Lexia

Michelle, Funny you should mention this. I just had my gallbladder removed 1 1/2 weeks ago. When the surgeon was in he also saw a hernia that was repaired. Believe me the surgery is no big deal compared to the pain it is to go through a gallstone attack. I am 7 months out and felt the same way you do...here we go again. I even thought twice for the first time if I made the right decision having WLS. But all that has passed and I feel great. You'll be fine, get it out and all will be better. Good luck.
