I'm dying over here ! I am so damn hungry I want to eat everything in sight ! What is wrong with me? I swear I have no restriction at all. I am on stage 2 and it's been so difficult and thats putting it mildly. I am a bottomless pit, I can eat way more then what the Dr keeps telling me I should. And I can eat things I know that I shouldn't (not junk just chunkier type food) and the Dr says I can't. I just don't know what to do. To be honest I told my husband tonight, forget it lets just go out for a burger I'M STARVING ! I know the surgery is a tool and all but I had just hoped for more restriction then what I am getting and since I have had my JP tube removed, there isn't anything I don't think I couldn't eat. I am regreting going through all this surgery just to be able to eat whatever and be back to square one. I know it sounds crazy but I would give anything to have the feelings I had during week 1, stuffed 24/7 just enough room for 1/2 jello and water.... someone.... PLEASE HELP ! ~~Rona

Hi Rona hun. I am sorry you are feeling this way. I have no clue about it since I have not went through it YET. But are you allowed protein shakes yet?? Maybe that will give you a more "full" feeling. Idk, but I am here for ya babe!

Warning, no sugar coating, just the information you don't want to see. Your nerves aren't awake yet, you can't feel when you are full. I'll bet the directions from the doctor say to measure your food amounts and eat no more than a certain amount. This is why, you can't feel the fullness yet. Your brain still thinks it needs the amount of food it used to get. You know that isn't so, you are giving in to what they call head hunger. It isn't about eating more than the doctor said you could, it is about being compliant, so that you don't mess up the tool you were given. Think about having a big, deep cut on your arm. After it was sewn up, would you keep pulling the cut back open? That is what not following the plan is doing. Please, talk hoestly to the doctor about this and follow the plan. If you cause this to fail, you are hurting yourself (you wanted to lose weight, right?). And you are giving the insurance company a good reason not to cover this surgery for someone who will comply.

totally agree with what Jane says.........please stay on what the doc and nut told you to do-------do not pu****this is very important healing time for you and your pouch--you for your head and the pouch for its tissues........lots of physical and emotional things these first few weeks and months. But it is so important to stay focused on what the doc tells you for healing etc-------it all balances out--but you have to keep your tool intact by taking care of it...........you will be suprised as time goes on how many changes you feel at different stages of healing. I have them now even 2 1/2 years out--when some days my pouch doesnt feel full no matter what i do and other days it just takes a few bites and i am done. But underlying all of it is that i have to stay focused on my protein intake etc etc. Make sure you are drinking. Sometimes we misperceive hunger when we are really thirsty.......and make sure you are eating routinely---dont go too long without eating (if that is the recommendation of your doc) . You may want to journal to help yourself see your progressions etc and you can share it with your doc to look at relationships opf types of food and amounts and timing etc--as well as feelings. Just some thoughts-------wishing you everything good in your journey-----keep talking to us so we can support you during all of the wild and crazy changes! hug rae

Thank you Jane. I couldn't believe someone was writing this and only 3 weeks out. For one thing, I wasn't allowed burgers or any other stuff that soon. I was on pureed and soft foods at that point. Try some cottage cheese and other protein filled foods to "fill" your pouch. Maybe once you start throwing it back up, you'll change your attitude and start to work the program. Many of us have worked hard to get where we are. Many more have had to fight their insurance companies to get this life saving surgery and then a lot is undone by someone who can't control themselves. This surgery is only a tool and you must train your brain and your mouth not to indulge itself anymore. I hate to be so blunt but I am working my program and lots of other people here are too and it seems to me that you're not even trying. You're trying to fail yourself when you've just got started. Go back and get on those soft foods, drink lots of protein drinks and keep hydrated and take your vitamins. These are the basics and it's time you start following them instead of giving in and "lets just go out for a burger".

Hey Rona I am almost 6 weeks out and I was too scared to try anything at your stage except the purees and then onto soft foods. Yes hun this is only a tool. and I too have gotten hungrier, it is normal. I do give in sometimes and go out with the kids for just a burger but I make sure they use 100% pure beef and they broil it so there is no fat at all and I ask for no bun and I get a salad instead of fries. I can eat probably 1/4 (and thats being generous) of the burger I sometimes add cheese and it is delish. But I chew really well and don't drink with my meal and the salad is yummy. so far everything I have eaten has been ok except I had a fish episode made with butter and I dumped. but relax and make sure you don't get to the point where you are starving eat every 2-3 hours and you will be full and make sure you are drinking too very very important. Just stick with the program. I am now cooking much more than I had before WLS and everyone is enjoying it they don't even realise that I am making low sugar and little or no fat dishes I can eat them and have left overs too. I don't make every snack a protein snack as I do a Protein Shake for breakie to get a good amount in for the day, I do have tuna or salmon or egg as one or 2 of my snacks and I also have sf jello/pudding yogurt or Sf popsicles. I hope this helps hun.. I have not regretted my wls not even once.... I feel it is the best thing I have ever done for myslef. I am down 32 pounds in under 6 weeks I feel terrific I have stopped snoring I work out and I feel terrific... oh did I tel ya that I feel terrrific??? LMAO!!! Good luck Hugs!! Elisa 253/222/125

I find it totally irritating that someone comes here for support and information, ie, "I know it sounds crazy but I would give anything to have the feelings I had during week 1, stuffed 24/7 just enough room for 1/2 jello and water.... someone.... PLEASE HELP" and ends up getting a reply like this: """"""""""''I couldn't believe someone was writing this and only 3 weeks out. For one thing, I wasn't allowed burgers or any other stuff that soon.
