I asked my nutritionist about soy nuts and she told not until I was 6 weeks out. You might try emailing your NUT and asking because each doctor's protocol is different and what wasn't allowed for me might be allowed for you. I do know that when I tried them at about 7 weeks out, they just kind of sat there (or felt like they did) and I didn't try them again for a while. I still don't do nuts very well because they almost make me dump but not quite and I just don't like that icky feeling.

As soon as I was allowed on a regular diet I began eating cashews and peanuts and almonds. Be careful, they have a lot of calories and fat, even though it's the good kind. A normal serving of nuts is just a handful (and that's the inside of your palm, not the whole hand). You might be better off with some no sugar added peanut or soynut butter on a whole wheat cracker. I eat those for snacks a lot.

They're not as loaded with protein as you may think. Next time you're in the store, check the nutrition information. They're roughly 5gr per ounce, but loaded with calories and fat. I would eat them on occasion but not make a regular habit of it. 3oz. of shrimp has roughly 60 cal...1/2 g fat and 15g of protein. Though shrimp is not recommended until the 4 month at least. Just something for you to consider. I used the Atkins Advantage protein bars for my snacks and they're much less in fat and calories comparatively speaking. By they way, it takes time to get in all of those things. I thought we were expected to get all that in from the get go. No one told me it was a progressive thing. As your pouch heals, the easier it will be. I think I was at 4 months before I got everything in...I'm at 5 now. Good luck to you and congrats on your success so far.
