I cant wait to start looking for new recipes ..high protien lowfat , no suger ..is that right ? you guys are great cant wait to hear back from you hugs Sherry

sherry, hang in there, the first few weeks after surgery are the worst, i would encourage you not to cheat, your body needs time to heal. i was not at all hungry for the first few weeks, so it is kind of hard to get into the "food" habit. i was allowed any liquid protein and sugar free and caffein free liquids right away, i was constantly sipping on a protein drink or water or crystal light. i would start the morn with a protein drink then liquids til lunch and again a protein drink then the same all day. i was able to get about 50-60g a day in by just sipping, it really helps you to recover faster. it will get better, before you know it you will be eating normal again-within the parameters allowed. i cook the same for me and my family, just eat a lot less. it is better for everyone tohave lower fat and sugar. good luck, teri

Hey Sherry I am 6 weeks out today. during the first few weeks I made my own homemade soups, that were packed with protein, I made a split pea and lentil soup with beef as the base it was delish, hearty and packed full of protein. at this point I start each day with a protein shake 2-3 hrs later I have food protein like a soft boiled egg, salmon or tuna made with Fat free miracle whip, or a sf yogurt. then I have lunch something protein either left over what I had for snack or make something different, then again 2-3 hours later I have a snack of sf popsicle/jello or puddings.... I drink 64 oz of liquids each day. I mix Profect into 32 oz of water mixed with fruit juice and I love it. I am always getting in enough protein that way. For dinner I have a nice meal I had chicken with tomato sauce, veggies and cheese. Yumm the n more liquids and a snack sf popsicle. so that is my typical day at 6 weeks.. good luck I hope I have given you some ideas... Hugs Elisa 253/220/125

I came home on clear liquids for 2 days then full liquids, then with a week I was on soft foods, scrambled eggs, cream soups and the NUT even said I could add in something crunchy like a pita chip with hummus. I have ot had any problems at all. I have always gotten my 60 or more grams of protein and my 64 oz of water/crystal light. I had to make my self eat. I was not hungry at all. I just now 14 weeks out, have had a few issues with head hunger...but that passed. I try to eat every 4 hours. And I get most my calories during the busiest times in my day. I am down to just 1 protein drink because I get enough protein in other things I eat. I am on 700-900 calories. Hang in there...
