I have this same problem with pain medication. I usually only take it as long as the pain is more annoying than the nausea. A couple of things help. I keep crackers by me so I don't take the medication on an empty stomach and I ask the doctor for some medication for nausea. Compazine (?) works. But after a while none of my tricks will work and I'll switch to Tylenol. Good luck, Fran

There are many medications that can counter the nausea caused by the narcotics. Reglan, Droperidal, Compazine and only three. Speak to you MD and to the anesthesiologist. They can give you something during your surgery and then as needed after you wake up. Diane
