Hi everyone! My name is Kathy. I'm 34. I live in Westland. Married 8 ½ years to Frank. My son Tre (nickname - he's Frank III and tre is Italian for 3) just turned 1 last week. I'm at the beginning of the process. I attended a seminar in January at U of M. I submitted all my paperwork last month. When I called on Friday to check on my status I was told they didn't know where my records were, so I re-submitted them in person yesterday. I've already had a sleep study (have mild sleep apnea) and echocardiogram (normal). I'm on pins and needles waiting to hear whether I qualify or have the appropriate documentation! It's all I can think about and it's driving me nuts! I wish I could go to the OH event on Saturday, but that is when we are having my son's birthday party. I hope everyone who is going has a good time. Hobbies: love to read, love movies, and love all types of crafts including learning crochet and knitting.
Carla, Theresa, and Brenda - Thanks for making me feel welcome!
Brenda, no I haven't been to any of the support groups yet. I almost made it last weekend but ran into major traffic on 94. I'm going to try to go to next month's Saturday meeting. I wor****il 5 so the Thursday meetings don't work for me.
Hi Kathy and welcome to the Michigan board. I live in Pinckney now but I grew up in Westland. It sure has changed over the years. I will be out there this weekend to do a Tastefully Simple party, but normally I don't get out that way too much. I miss it.
I hope you get the answers you are looking for soon. I remember worrying about my documents and all of that in the beginning too. Everything worked out for me and I am now 6 months post-op. Keep us updated on how things are going with you. Hope to see you posting often.

Yes, I went to Wayne Memorial for one year then my parent's moved us out to S. Lyon, then after I married hubby we moved to Pinckney. It is beatiful out here, but I miss having a store right around the corner. I have to drive half an hour to get to just about anything good. LOL.... But I do like being away from the crowds too.
