No Tylenol, Motrin, etc. Pre surgery?? I have a bad headache though!

Hi guys, I'm less than 2 weeks to surgery (May 30) and the clinic told me no pain relievers from now until surgery. I have a T.H.R.O.B.B.I.N.G headache right now. I tried a big cup of coffee (I don't like coffee) and that didn't help. I usually take 2 ibuprofen when I get a headache like this and within a half hour it's gone... It hurts so bad right now my tummy is turning. Does anyone know what I can do or if they think I could "risk" a pain pill?

Call the doctor and see what they will let you take. They are telling you to lay off certain pain relievers because they can increase your risk of blood clots during surgery. I guess all surgeons are different because I didn't have the pain reliever restriction before my surgery.

Called the nurse, apparently Tylenol is okay. Weird, I swear she told me no pain relievers until after surgery. Anyhow, thank you, my headache is gone finally.
