Most of us have only had one, so it is hard for us to compare. Check with your surgeon, your insurance and your pcp for more expert information.

Question: how could you have a surgery date, and the type is unknown? and how much research have you done on the various procedures? this is a LIFE LONG CHANGE, AND not one to take lightly. i'd recommend doing more research before i let anyone do surgery on me. sw

Brittany, You are right when you say that people with higher BMI's are usually the patients who get a "sleeve". In my research I discovered that same information, but I also discovered they often get the sleeve as part I of a 2 part process. Ask many, many questions! When you are closer to your surgery date if you still aren't confidant in the procedure, maybe you should postpone until you are. You want to be absolutely certain you have made the best choice for you. Good Luck, Lexia
