Looking for lap-band buddy in Saginaw area

Hi, I live in Saginaw and am currently waiting for approval for Lap-band from insurance. I was hoping to find someone in the area that has had this procedure. Know of anyone? Thanks. Lori

Hi Tammy, How great that you only have a couple weeks to go before getting your band. Are you excited, anxious...??? I too will be having my surgery at Hurley, was supposed to have Dr. Obeid, but he is currently out on medical leave and I was told they aren't sure how long he will be out. So whenever I actually hear something from the insurance I can decide if I want to wait for Dr. Obeid or have a different surgeon. I most likely will just choose another surgeon. Who is your surgeon? I really want someone that will listen and not treat me as a child or just another number. Keep in touch Lori

Hi Lori, I'm from the Detroit area, so I'm not local, but feel free to ask any questions. I had my lap-band surgery two days ago - so I'm still learning myself.

I'm in Livingston County and having mine placed 6-27- went for my fisrt consult and got a date right then- I have LOTs to learn about this! Message me anytime, I'll go to a support group with you maybe there is one halfway like in Flint or something? -Sara

I'm not from Saginaw but I am a lap bander from MI nice to meet ya! I live in the Battle Creek area and I have a walk buddy that is a pre-op RNY and she lives 2 doors away...I feel blessed!

I live near Saginaw, but right now I am having trouble having my insurance pay for the lap-band.  I have HealthPlus.
