Hi All, I had my three week check up on Thursday. Moving on the the next stage of diet has been interesting. I'm not really hungry so I don't think I am getting in enough protein. I am getting my liquids in though. I have lost 26 pounds since surgery but it does seem to be slowing down already. I still have quite a bit of pain in one of my incisions. I wonder if it will be okay to go back to curves? I just wanted to share a little bit. Thanks for all of your support. Joni

Congratulations on your great loss. The doctor usually doesn't release you for exercise for 6 weeks but I'd check with his office to make sure. It'll be a while until you can get all your protein in so work in as many shakes as you can or get some protein powder and add it to your soups, cottage cheese or pudding. These are probably all on your list and since you can't eat much yet, the extra protein powder will go a long way to help you get your protein in. I know that my hunger didn't come bac****il I was 6 months out so I had to work on making myself eat. It does get easier and the longer out you are, the more foods will be on your list to try. Again, congratulations on the 26 lb. loss, that's wonderful.

Joni ! Your doing great ! CONGRATS GIRL ! I have my 3 wk checkup on Wed. I'm surprised they ok'd you to exercise? I haven't been yet, only cleared and instructed to walk ONE mile per day. Hopefully soon I can do a little exercise. I have been having pain on and off in one of my incisions as well. Last week I had a bad pain in my side and talked to MK, she said it's normal. Now I have it in my incision and I am just assuming it's normal but will definitely ask when I see Dr on Wed. Keep up the great work also, are you going to the support group meeting tomorrow (mon)?? Let me know, I plan on going, we can carpool or meet there ! Take care. ~~Rona

Hi Rona, I hadn't planned on going to the support group. I would love to. Is it in T.C.? I really don't want to drive all the way to T.C. again. I have to go for my 6 week check on June 7th. With these gas prices I just don't know. I thought I read somewhere that there is a support groug right there in Gaylord. I will check it out. Also, maybe we can ride together on the next one. Thanks, Joni

Your numbers will get smaller as you lose. You lose a percentage of your excess body weight. If you lost 26 lbs at 400 lbs it wouldn't be as big if you lost it at 100 lbs. Did I say that right? So your scale will slow down but not really. 26 is a rather significant loss. Don't worry about he numbers - think about he feeling. As for working out I suggest you call the doctor and get a release before any activity. Ahmed

Hi Joni!!! Congrats on -26 pounds!!! That is great!!! As for exercising...Walking is best right now for you. Just don't walk so far that you are to tired to make it back home again!!! Call and ask your dr if its ok to do more than walking at this point....Some only want you to walk for now. Keep up the great work and soon you will be down even more!!!! Hugs Judy
