I am worried that I maybe already stretching my pouch. i started full liquids and light puree based on Dr's recommendations. I ate watery mashed potatoes yesterday. I probably had about 3/4 to 1 cup and a popsicle for dinner. I had no sugar yougurt with protein powder for breakfast and finished all 6 oz and a cup of pureed lentil soup for lunch. It seems like I shouldn't be able to take in thes amounts. I stop eating when I start to feel uncomfortable but it isn't really a stuffed feeling. I snack on no-sugar fruit popsicles between meals. I am worried that I should be limiting myself more. My friend couldn't hold down even a medicine cup full of soup. I only get the real full feeling when I drink after meals. any advice?

The foods you are eating are watery which mean they pass through your pouch more quickly than when you are on whole foods. Don't worry you won't be stretching your pouch so soon. Once you hit your 3 month mark, you will most likely be told not to do the watery foods (soup, etc). I was told to think of my pouch as a funnel and after 3 months, you want foods that stay in the funnel instead of passing through. You're doing ok so don't worry about it. Each person is different and no one has exactly the same size pouch so don't compare what you can eat or how much weight you lose.

Remember to not eat till you are full. Eat by the numbers - amount of protein and water. Eat on a schedule. To eat till you are full keeps the old habits in place. Eat to live rather than live to eat. One of my biggest problems pre op was eating too much and the wrong stuff. Now I eat on a schedule specific amounts to keep me moving. Ahmed
